PROFILE

Following a successful career as an Architectural Designer working with some innovative companies Pauline became a full-time artist in 1991
Introduced to the sensual and tactile qualities of stone, she soon began to realize herself as a Sculptor.
April 1994 saw the beginning of a close working relationship and friendship with the late John Skelton FRBS MBE: nephew to Eric Gill and President of The Royal Society of British Sculptors in the late 70's. An internationally acclaimed Sculptor and Letter carver, John recommended Pauline for membership to the RBS and invited her to exhibit along side him.
Pauline became a member of the The Royal Society of British Sculptors in 1998.
Pauline's passion and desire to express her vision using natural materials has continued, she has traveled extensively and worked abroad with Artists and Craftsmen to develop her skills and thinking; travel and experiencing new cultures continues to be an inspiration . In Pietrasanta and Sienna in Italy she spent time at Silverio Paoli studios and Centre D'Arte-Verrocchio, to learn the nature of Marble and Alabaster. Working in Cape Town, South Africa inspired by the beauty of the African women, she worked at The Bronze Age Foundry learning and working bronze and wax. Her greatest inspiration is the human mind and body, serenely beautiful and powerful beyond measure.
More recently working with clay, plaster and bronze Pauline is expressing a more urgent passion in her work. Aside from private commissions, she is currently developing two new series of works entitled:
- The Balanced Mind, which looks at The Human Subject, striving to preserve identity in adverse circumstances.
- The Power and Electricity of Dance. Inspired by the Ballet Rambert
